Q. I'm not a good writer. Can I really do this?

Q. I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a freelancer. Is Copy Camp still a good choice for me if I want to get a job as a copywriter?

A. Yes. The skills you'll learn here are as applicable to in-house copywriters as to freelancers. You’ll be more attractive to prospective employers and still have a plan for striking out on your own down the road, should you choose to do that.

Q. How will I get feedback on my writing?

A. We'll workshop it both 1:1 and in a group setting. This is a great way to see what's landing, where the holes are, and how to improve your skills. You'll also be able to ask questions in the Facebook group and our exclusive Telegram channel.

Q. How much time do I need to commit each week?

A. 60 mins for each of the live coaching calls, plus at least 2-3 hours for watching the modules and taking action! So about 5 hours a week if you want to get up and running fast. And you do, right? 😎

Q. How will all of this work, exactly?

A. As soon as you sign up, you'll get a link to sign up for your onboarding call. We'll go over your goals, your concerns, your experience and more to set you up for maximum success in the program. You'll also get instructions on how to access our exclusive Facebook community. Live support calls are on Thursdays at 1pm Eastern via Zoom.

Q. What if the live calls don't work for me.?

Get introduced to all the different forms that copy takes—from emails and VSLs to Instagram captions and product descriptions. We'll cover ethics and swipe files, and get you grounded on all the important dos and don'ts. After class you'll go find your first client and start practicing!

2 THe riches are in the niches (for real)

Learn why niches are especially important in copywriting, how to find yours, and how to start establishing yourself as an authority in your niche. You'll also learn where to find your perfect-fit clients and how to start building a portfolio of work to prospect with.

3 EMAILS THAT EXCITE

Learn how to write emails that rise above the never-ending flow of mediocrity out there. We’ll also cover how to improve your deliverability and make your emails more likely to end up in someone’s primary inbox rather the promotions or spam folder.

4 hook, line, and sinker

Explore story structure and why storytelling is so powerful. You’ll also learn why hooking someone in with your copy isn’t about reeling them in and pressuring them to buy, but about inspiring them and empowering them to make the best decision for themselves. Good copy creates sales tension, but should never squeeze a sale.

5 takeoffs, turbulence, and smooth landings

You know that feeling when you go through turbulence as the plane is coming into land? Where everyone holds their breath as the plane rocks and then cheers and claps when the pilot touches down? That elation is what you want your sales page to inspire in your reader. That “hallelujah we’re here and I can’t wait to can start my next adventure!” by hitting your "TAKE ACTION" button.

6 sorry not sorry, grammar and spelling DO matter

If you want to be an A-List copywriter don't fall for the lie that errors show your humanity and make you relatable to your audience. Do you necessarily need to know an Oxford comma from a regular one? Maybe not. But if a client ever calls you out on it, you should have an answer. In this lesson you'll learn how to make your copy shine (without going back to English class).

7 you are youR brand

Whoever told you branding is about your logo, colors, and fonts (90% of brand “strategists”) is a fucking liar. Branding is So. Much. More. It's key to getting the clients you want, and repelling the ones you want to don't. So we'll start working on what your brand is from the ground up..

8 smooth sailing

We landed the airplane, now we’re on open water catching a breeze. Learn how to write up copywriting proposals, contracts, terms and conditions, protect yourself in the event of a client dispute, figure out what systems you need right now and what can wait, how to set yourself up for tax benefits, and everything else you need to put in place so you can focus on doing the shit you love (the writing) not the shit you don’t (everything else).
